Get your finances in order: gain more control over your numbers
Finances are the foundation of a healthy business. Without insight into your numbers, you take unnecessary risks. Yet for many entrepreneurs, that’s easier said than done. Your attention is often focused on clients, staff, or growth — not on spreadsheets or payment arrangements. Meanwhile, costs pile up, invoices go unpaid, and your profits turn out lower than expected.
Does this sound familiar? Then it’s time to take a closer look at your financial situation — with the help of former entrepreneurs who know exactly what you’re going through. They’ve seen the pitfalls, celebrated the wins, and know how to help you make a strong start.

"We were on the verge of closing down, but with the right support, we're now proudly in the black."
In early 2020, Marie-Louise Velders and Rob Wakelkamp opened the doors of their vegan restaurant Vegane Glorie in The Hague. The name, once a playful joke, became a reality when the COVID crisis forced them to temporarily shut down. Despite creative solutions, such as their Vegan Friday takeaway concept, financial problems continued to pile up.
“You don’t have to be able to do everything yourself — as long as you know where to turn for help.”
From our knowledge base
What challenges do entrepreneurs face?
Financial matters remain a recurring concern even for experienced entrepreneurs. If your business has been running for a few years, you’re likely dealing with larger financial flows, complex obligations, and strategic decisions that directly impact your profitability. You might be considering investing in growth but are unsure of its feasibility.
In the case of a business transfer, financial insight is even more crucial. You need to know exactly where your company stands to properly assess its value and make well-informed decisions. How stable is your business income? Can you continue to meet your obligations, even during the transition? We’re happy to support you with these and other questions.
An up-to-date and realistic financial plan also helps guide the transfer process. Think of planned investments, potential risks, or additional costs. It’s also important to stay alert to rising expenses or payment arrears, which can add pressure during this phase.
Of course, it’s vital that your profitability is strong enough to continue successfully after the transfer. That requires sound analysis and practical solutions.
Advice from an experienced entrepreneur
At the Entrepreneurs’ Sounding Board Foundation, you don’t get one-size-fits-all advice — you get support from someone who has been an entrepreneur themselves. You’ll receive guidance from an experienced OKB advisor who listens, asks critical questions, and helps you navigate toward financial stability. Whether you are a starting entrepreneur, growing your business, going through a crisis, or looking to exit — we’re here for you.
OKB advisors are former entrepreneurs or specialists from the business world, such as accountants, directors, legal experts, or marketing managers. They help you voluntarily and independently with all your challenges.
What does it cost?
A complete coaching program with Ondernemersklankbord costs just two hundred euros. For that, you receive six months of personal guidance from a dedicated OKB advisor. Shorter periods are possible, and extensions are available too. You can even start a new program later on — just like Dennie van Herwijnen, who fulfilled his dream of launching a walking campsite in the Achterhoek after completing four coaching programs.
The cost of a program is always two hundred euros. Our experienced OKB advisors are located throughout the Netherlands. You’ll receive a personalized program focused entirely on you and your business.
During the coaching program, you’ll regularly meet with your advisor to address concrete financial challenges like liquidity problems, work on improvement plans, and gain practical tools to organize your finances. You’re investing in guidance that directly enhances your financial insight.
Peace of mind
When you have control over your finances, you gain clarity. You know your margins and understand your cash flow. This allows you to make well-informed decisions and worry less about unexpected setbacks — giving peace of mind for both you and your business.
Entrepreneurs who have worked with Ondernemersklankbord often say they’re able to refocus on their core activities. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. With a dedicated, independent OKB advisor by your side, you’ll regain clarity and direction.
